Veterans Information
At Prairie View Cemetery we honor every Veteran that is laid to rest; the site is marked with a flag until a marker can be placed. Currently at Prairie View Cemetery there are over 600 Veterans laid to rest. Veterans of all branches of the military are here. There is also a special section to honor the Veterans of the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic). It is at this site that every year we have our Memorial Day Services usually at nine o’clock AM. Every year on the Saturday before Memorial Day flags are placed on every Veteran's space to remember the sacrifice that they had made for our freedom. Currently, we honor two ”Missing in Action” Veterans where a flag remains on their sites year round.
